Meteorological measurements, air-quality monitoring and webcams
Meteorological
measurements and monitoring of air quality have been carried out by the
Department of Atmospheric Physics in the Troja campus since 2019. Measuring
stations are located at three locations at different heights above the surface.
The comparison of the outputs makes it possible to estimate the influence of
surrounding buildings, mixing in the boundary layer and the vertical
distribution of the measured elements. We currently measure standard
meteorological elements (temperature, precipitation, wind, humidity, pressure,
radiation), the concentration of aerosols (PM1, PM2.5 and PM10) as well as the
concentration of ground-level ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (
NO2) and carbon dioxide (CO).
Heights above the terrain at each location: A – 40m, T – 8m, Z – 0m (ground level) .
Description of measuring devices
In addition to monitoring meteorological conditions and air quality, the department also operates web cameras for monitoring weather conditions (e.g. cloud cover). These are located on the roof of the main building and we are currently operating cameras facing south and west.
