CFD modeling
The group participates mainly in the research, development and application of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) on problems of turbulence in the boundary layer. In the last decade, we focused on the model applications in the urban environment, mainly for research of potential urban heat island adaptation and mitigation measures. Model simulations we produce can serve as a basis for planning such measures, evaluation of the sensitivity, and potential impacts, including side effects on air quality.

International cooperation
The research with the PALM model has been performed in cooperation with the Leibniz University Hannover. The works within the framework of the TURBAN project have been performed in cooperation with the Norwegian Nansen Centre in Bergen.
